Our Facility & Fees

Accommodation

Situated on a peaceful suburban street in Claudelands Hamilton, our recently refurbished one-level 680 square metre home is purpose-built for people living with dementia.

Our rest home has inviting spaces that are furnished like a real home rather than a health care facility. Roselea is cosy, comfortable and quiet and reminiscent of residents’ own homes.

We have 3 lounge/diners, 19 bedrooms, two courtyards and a secure front garden for our residents to enjoy. We offer plenty of space and freedom to cater for residents’ day-to-day choices, whether their preference is to visit friends’ rooms, take a quick nap in a room with therapeutic music, engage in set activities or just watch the world go by. The choice is entirely theirs and we give them the freedom to manage their own schedules.

Meals

We pride ourselves on the high standard of appetising meals served, which are all prepared by our qualified chefs using fresh and seasonal produce.

Nutritious meals are very important in maintaining and improving our Residents’ health. Our staff get to know each resident’s food preferences and any dietary needs which are recorded in their personal care plan. Menus are displayed daily and offer options for each meal with a selection of home baking served daily. Please click the link to download the menu download

Roselea has a nutritious and delicious monthly rotating menu for summer and winter which is reviewed by our Registered Nutritionist every year. Our breakfast, two-course lunch, tea meal and home baking combine to offer a delicious and varied menu. Meals are served in our dining room, and beverages and snacks are served throughout the day in the lounge areas.

We celebrate special holidays and occasions throughout the year including our residents’ birthdays.

Security

Our garden and courtyard are safe and secure, and the wellbeing of our residents is of utmost importance.

  • Doors have a security key coded and all the windows have window restrictors which can only be opened to 20cm.
  • Hot water taps have preset valves to prevent scalding (except the main kitchen and laundry which is kept locked).
  • Every bedroom has bedside cupboard(s) and a built-in wardrobe.
  • All rooms including bathrooms, communal rooms and bedrooms have a call bell system.
  • Flooring is plain to help with depth perceptions that people living with dementia can experience.
  • Common areas including lounges, dining and corridors are under CCTV surveillance, which helps to improve fall risk management.
